What Is the Interview Agent?
Crosschq’s Interview Agent is an AI-powered virtual interviewer that helps hiring teams collect structured, asynchronous candidate responses based on job-specific competencies. It speeds up early-stage screening, ensures consistency in evaluations, and improves the candidate experience.
Interview Agents are part of Crosschq’s Interview Intelligence platform and are designed to complement both live and asynchronous interviews.

How to Set Up an Interview Agent (Step-by-Step)
1. Go to Interview Agents
- Log into Crosschq.
- From the left-hand menu, click “Interview Agents.”
- Click “Build New Interview Agent.”
2. Set Agent Details
- Choose a language: English or Spanish.
- Toggle the following settings based on your needs:
- Language proficiency assessment

- Candidate feedback collection
- Choose a voice style for your virtual interviewer.
3. Input the Job Description
- Paste the full job description into the designated field.
- The system will automatically extract and recommend relevant skills and qualifier questions.
4. Review & Edit Qualifying Questions
- Questions are auto-generated (e.g., availability, work eligibility, location).
- Customize logic for disqualification if needed.
5. Refine Skills & Competencies
- Review the AI-suggested skills and their associated questions.
- Edit, remove, or add your own custom questions if necessary.
- Keep focus on 5–7 key competencies for clarity.
6. Finalize and Publish
- Review your full interview plan and question flow.
- Click “Publish” to generate a reusable interview link.
Sharing the Interview Agent with Candidates
Once your Interview Agent is published, there are multiple ways to invite candidates:
Option 1: Manual Link Sharing
- In the Interview Agents tab, click “Copy Interview” to copy the reusable link.
- You may also click “Edit” to update the interview setup or candidate messaging before sending.
Option 2: Invite Candidates Directly (via Crosschq)
- Click “Invite Candidate.”
- Enter the candidate’s:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email
- Phone Number
- First Name
- Select the correct Interview Agent from the dropdown.
- Click “Request” to send the invitation.
Option 3: ATS Integration
- Use supported systems like Greenhouse to automatically trigger the Interview Agent when a candidate enters a specified stage.
Option 4: Customize Email/SMS Templates
- From the settings menu, you can:
- Use the default messaging template, or

What Candidates Experience
- A web-based interface where the AI-generated voice presents each interview question.
- Candidates can respond using video or audio, based on their comfort and device.
- Completion time varies by interview length (duration estimates coming soon).
- After completing, candidates can submit optional feedback about the experience.
Reviewing Completed Interviews
Step-by-Step:
- Navigate to the Interview Management tab in Crosschq.
- Click on a completed interview to open the report.
- Click the clipboard icon to view the full interview report.
Each report includes:
- Summary Overview
- Candidate Responses & Transcript
- Skill Ratings (1–5 scale)
- Strengths & Areas to Explore
- Resume (if uploaded)
- Language proficiency rating (if enabled)
- Candidate Feedback
You can also:
- Review the associated job requisition, and
- Add internal notes for team collaboration.
Tips for Success
- Keep the interview focused: limit to 5–7 core skills
- Carefully review disqualifying logic to avoid false negatives
- Enable resume uploads for added context in evaluations
- Test your Interview Agent internally before wide distribution
